REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!

MARCH 2, 2019

This year will be as fun, if not more so, than last year! In addition to flute choir readings, workshops, masterclasses, flute exhibits, and a recital, there will be a mock solo & ensemble audition! If you want to get some practice performing in front of judges or want to get some feedback in a low-fear situation, sign up now. Accompaniment is not required. Just show up and play!

Our guest artist is the wonderful Terri Sundberg, professor of flute at the University of North Texas. She will present a collegiate masterclass and a recital.

It’s $15 to register for the day, plus $5 for the optional mock solo & ensemble. A great value for a whole day of flute fun!

Register at www.wichita.edu/musicstore.

  1. Hi, We met in the food court on Saturday night of the Convention. I am the alum from Wichita U. I should have asked you if you were at Eastman when either Jason Shafer (clarinet) or Ian Wisekal (oboe) were at Eastman. Jason is now 31 and principal clarinetist of the Colorado Symphony. He is probably my most illustrious piano student. Ian is a year older and is Jason’s husband. I visited them on my way to the Convention and Jason regularly gets in touch when he comes back to visit his mom. Just a curiosity! Don’t know when I’ll be out your way again but I know it will happen. Great cheers, David Holmes

    1. Hi, David!
Yes, of course I remember you! I was at Eastman when Jason and Ian were there. They were undergraduates while I was a doctoral student. Small world!

It was great to meet you! If you’re ever in Wichita, please let me know. We’d love to have you attend our concerts if interested. I can secure tickets for you and your friends.

      Thank you for reaching out!
      Carmen
