Guillaume Connesson’s Concerto for flute

Program features Dr. Lemoine as soloist on the fantastically colorful and dramatic concerto “Pour sortir au jour” by Guillaume Connesson. Premiered by Mathieu Dufour with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, it evokes the Egyptian Book of the Dead: “a journey from shadow and light to the land of Amenti, the paradise of the ancient Egyptians.”
Also on the program are Roman Carnival Overture by Hector Berlioz and Beethoven’s Symphony no. 7.
